The notes about defamation of Theosophy and the philosophical club "The Lotus"

We know the names of Pericles, Anaxagoras, Aspasia, and Phidias, but not the names of the judges who condemned them. We remember the statues by Phidias, but not those who wanted to destroy them. We might hope that this shame of humanity has taken place for the last time in history, but I fear that such a hope is only a dream. The Thinker

Frequently we hear slander and accusations to our address especially from so-called "Christians", who attacking us for to please the God pray the Lord to consecrate their words and to make them saving. But what is the benefit from the pray used for slander and insults? Isn't it a mention of a name divine in vain?! Such situation is described in the Gospel, speaking that not everyone who says: "My God! My God! " will enter in the Kingdom of Heaven. Everything has got mixed up: Truth and lie, Light and darkness, whiteness and blackness. Now envy and anger are considered as Love and aspiration to the God, ignorance refers to as Simplicity and Sacred Innocence, haughty customs has a reputation for firm and indestructible resistance, and literal understanding of Bible's texts is taken for affinity to the God and sanctity.

If abusing of the Holy Scriptus for the obscene purposes is a sin, then, certainly, defamation of other person or other religion and philosophy is a sin much more. If to try to find out the reason of every defamation and words of slander, the source, even deeply hidden, always is arrogance, narrowness of prejudices and, first of all, - ignorance. For the majority there is nothing sacred except those things which they know and do them-selves.

The God arranged everything for everyone's using; many things was also expected by Christ when He tried to call people again from private cares for the Common Good. Certainly, He understood that our spoiled human nature immensely likes personal ownership, not without damage to common. "Every frog praises its own bog", common people's proverb says. In fact this is not new. There are much more such people who think, that monastic ranks, knowledge of texts of the Bible or science degrees highly lifts them above mere mortals in the world, than it seems. However, many of them are not malicious people, but ignoramuses and madmen; they rave with all that their silly intellect dictates to them and take all this for divine inspiration and knowledge. They believe they have reached the Third Sky (2 Corinth. 12, 2); meanwhile it would be more correctly to tell, that they have reached the third stage of madness.

As all to good we are sure, that everything is in the hands of the Heaven, and everyone is the judge to one-self and has prepared for delight or suffering. We have no doubt that all those attacking on Theosophy and on us, never would do so with such arrogance if they have not been only convinced of their sanctity, infallibility and knowledge. There is nothing more disastrous for the person's soul! With Love to you we wish you to be far away from this! The God sees all of us much more clearly and reads our hearts more deeply, than any of us can do. Eyes of the Heavens see our vices and our talents, and only they can manage Court above the person. But the person appeared in the most dangerous situation. People kill a spirit and deprive with them-selves soul energy. It is difficult to imagine, how the person and mankind is sick! The most occupied places are especially subject to epidemic of self-destruction. Religion could not prove value of morals, now religion cannot find dialogue with the science. The great Unity is replaced with pity division, and each smashing is a symbol of powerlessness. The Thinker said with regret, "Awful is the spectacle of the wandering self-destroyed ones!" But some people, limited by the earthly world, believe that self-destruction is killing body, and they cannot imagine other, much heavier murder - psychic (i.e. spiritual).
