The photo-exhibition "Russia - India" devoted to the Roerichs, consists of beautifully-made photo-works representing the nature, the history, culture and the life of the countries of Eurasia, reproductions of the Roerichs paintings and photos telling about the biography of this great family. The exhibition also contains the stands illuminating questions of the theosophical movement and Agni Yoga Teaching.

The exhibition represents the photos reflecting sacred territory of Russia and the New World - the Altai, in all its beauty and attractiveness. The exposition is accompanied by interesting lectures and video seances.

From all the great civilizations turned grey during endless ages, only Indian one has lived up to now. What a mysterious, fine country India! It seems, there is enough place for everything in this country: high mountains and blossoming valleys, northern frosts and tropical heat, material poverty and spiritual riches, youth and an extreme antiquity.

The feature of the Indian national culture is the aspiration to self-improvement. The same aspiration is typical to peoples of Russia, too. From immemorial time in both Russia and India the voice of preachers of Common Good and Peace, calling for sincere Love, Mercy, Compassion to everyone and Unselfishness, are not cease . For peoples of both countries is inherent heroism and self-sacrifice. There is one more important point: Indian and Russian peoples have born from one root. Ancestors of these two peoples are ancient Arias.

The Russian and Indian motives in Roerich's paintings sound with identical power, not contradicting each other. The deepest artist's belief was that the great mountain ridge Altai - Himalayas does not separate, but connects these countries. The scientist compared Indian Sanskrit to the Russian Ancient language, and found out identical roots. The immemorial and secret attraction of Russia to India is also deeply reflected in Roerich's creativity, in his paintings penetrated by sincere love to the Humanity, to its Last, Present and Future. His pictures make possible one to get acquainted with traditions, myths and legends of peoples of the Earth and to learn the World and the Laws of the Universe. Having kept in the heart love to people, their culture, history and art, Nicholas Roerich could embody in his works spiritual depth of peoples of India, Mongolia, China, Finland, America, Japan and many others.

During his life he has painted more than seven thousand pictures. And the quantity of them is not so important, but their spiritual value. His creativity can be divided into some periods. Very big and significant one is "the Russian period", during which Roerich revived a face of the Slavic land. He has made many images of ancient Russian cities, remained the only documents on existence of the most ancient architectural monuments: cathedrals, churches, monasteries destroyed nowadays.

The most significant period of artist's life and his creativity is Indian one. Paintings of this period reflect True Knowledge of the Universe, and its Laws sounded in them are more appreciable. Mountains constantly accompanying the paintings help one to find courage and to show strength of spirit. Something calling and unrestrainedly attracting fills spirit of disciples, when they overcome difficulties on the way back to the heist tops.

The series devoted to Teachers and Shambala is magnificent. Paintings about Shambala and Maitreya are the living expression of dreams about happy Future, the arrival of the New Era, the Epoch of Love and Mercy, that will come not violently, but through the transformation of the person and the dispersion of darkness by rays of Light.

Nicholas Roerich piously trusted in great power of Art and Culture as well as in the opportunity, that these means to affect the course of a global history.
He wrote: "…In Beauty we are united, through Beauty we pray, with Beauty we conquer".
